La Jolla Recovery will be giving away 50 free drug tests with a limit of two per household. These tests are the same used in many treatment centers, said Barrett Hammond, one of the center's directors.
"We want to provide a quick and easy confidential way for concerned parents to obtain drug tests and … to be informed," he said.
The La Jolla Democratic Club is offering voter registration daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at its headquarters at 817 Silverado St. and every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the La Jolla Open Aire Fair at La Jolla Elementary School.
The club meets the third Sunday of each month from 2 to 4 p.m. at the La Jolla Riford Library, 7555 Draper St. City Attorney Mike Aguirre will speak this Sunday.
