If you've got the knife skills of Michael Myers and the charismatic "Pumpkin King" mentality of Jack Skellington, enter to win our Jack-O-Lantern contest. It's scarily simple: buy a pumpkin, rearrange its face, take a photo and shoot us an e-mail to submissions@lajollalight.com. We'll upload the photo to our Web site, the public will vote for its favorite and the winner will receive a $50 gift certificate to Froglanders in La Jolla. Pumpkin guts have never been so fun!
Rules:
- Jack-O-Lanterns must be hand carved.
- Contest is open to all ages.
- Only La Jolla residents or businesses are eligible to enter the contest.
- Submissions must include name, address, daytime phone number and ONE high-resolution photo of a Jack-O-Lantern.
- All contest entries must be submitted by 3 p.m. Oct. 20.
- Online voting on www.lajollalight.com will close at noon Oct. 24.
- The winner of the contest will be contacted by phone.
- The winner will be announced in the Oct. 30 edition of the Light.
Although the La Jolla Light does not have any obligation to monitor this board, the La Jolla Light reserves the right at all times to check this board and to remove any information or materials that are unlawful, threatening, abusive, libelous, defamatory, obscene, vulgar, pornographic, profane, indecent or otherwise objectionable to the La Jolla Light in our sole discretion and to disclose any information necessary to satisfy the law, regulation, or government request.
