Baseball
La Jolla High School toppled Crawford, 6-0, in the City Conference tournament on March 31. Stephen Foster drove in two runs, while Jimmy Filter, Robbie Beathard and Trent Jemmett each had an RBI. Julian Velazco allowed just four hits in five innings and earned the win.

The Vikings rolled to a 3-1 tournament win over Coronado on April 2. Filter drove in two runs, and Jemmett had a 2-for-3 day. Patrick Christensen worked six innings, allowing only three hits while striking out seven in a winning effort.

La Jolla fell to Mission Bay, 7-6, in another tournament game, on April 5. Filter, Jemmett, Dustin Ouellete, Wyatt Hoff and Zac Smith all drove in runs. Hoff and Jemmett each had three hits in the defeat. The Bishop's School topped Lincoln, 10-2, on April 1.

Softball
La Jolla Country Day hosted the Torrey Invitational last week, and turned in some good results, finishing third in the tournament.
The Torreys beat Tri-City Christian, 17-2, on April 3. Maria Ryder went 3-for-3 with two doubles.

On April 4, Country Day toppled Guajome Park, 7-5, with help from Samantha Berenter's two-run home run.

The Torreys fell to Imperial, 3-0, on April 5.

They bounced back with a 4-3 win over High Tech High on April 5. Brittany Dawson pitched and drove in the game-winning run.

The Bishop's School beat Mission Bay, 8-3, on March 31 in the Torrey Invitational. The Knights beat Imperial, 4-0, on April 3; toppled Lincoln of Los Angeles, 7-4, on April 4; beat Holtville, 6-3, on April 5; and fell to Mountain Empire, 2-0, later that day.

La Jolla High School fell to Coronado, 8-7, on April 2.

Track and field
La Jolla High School's boys‚ team fell to Scripps Ranch, 72-63, on April 3 in a key Western League dual meet. Kevin Miller won the 110-meter high hurdles and the high jump. Aru Gonzalez was victorious in the 400, and Angel Mendoza won the 800. Miller, Gonzalez, Mendoza and John Jackson teamed up to win the 4x400 relay.

Swimming
On April 2, the Bishop's School's girls‚ team rolled to a 131-39 victory over Patrick Henry. Andrea Basaraba set a school record with her 1:01.29 in the 100 backstroke. Other top times included Dominique Sardo‚s 26.08 in the 50 freestyle and Noel Elgamel's 2:02.67 in the 200 freestyle.

The Knights' girls easily swam past Christian High School, 134-36, on April 4. Sarah Presant turned in a standout performance in the 50-yard freestyle, clocking a time of 26.43 seconds. Melanie Boehrig swam a 58.58 in the 100 freestyle, and Kaylee Kastrup swam a 1:17:09 in the 100 breaststroke.

Boys lacrosse
The Bishop's School rolled to a 7-2 win over Junipero Serra on April 2. Trevor Sinclair scored two goals and had two assists. Mike P. Jensen added two scores, while Frankie Hurst had a goal and an assist.
The Knights fell to Torrey Pines, 8-2, on April 4. Tighe Thomas and Jensen each scored for Bishop's.

La Jolla High School topped Grossmont, 10-7, on April 2. The Vikings continued to roll with a 14-2 win over Bonita Vista on April 4.

La Jolla Country Day beat Hilltop, 5-1, on April 3.

Girls lacrosse
The Bishop's School secured an 8-7 win over Preuss on April 1. Caroline Markham and Sophia Muller each scored two goals, while Emily Reit, Haley Geier and Jameson Kearney each scored once.

La Jolla High School fell to La Costa Canyon of Carlsbad, 15-5, on April 3.

The Vikings competed in the Western States tournament at Stanford University on April 4 and 5, and advanced all the way to the semifinals before falling. The Vikings went 2-1 in pool play. They toppled St. Bartolomew of England in the quarterfinals, but fell to Foothill in the semifinals.

Boys volleyball
La Jolla High School secured a 25-12, 25-19, 26-24 victory over University City on April 2. Matt Jones led the team with 12 kills.
The Vikings went on to host and win the Beach City Invitational later in the week. La Jolla beat Carson, San Dieguito Academy, San Marcos and Christian in pool play on April 4. They then cruised through the gold division playoffs the next day.

La Jolla beat Mar Vista, 25-21, 25-22, in the first round. The Vikings toppled Arbor View, 25-18, 25-20, in the second round. In the semifinals, La Jolla edged Valhalla, 27-25, 21-25, 17-15. The Vikings topped Otay Ranch, 25-17, 17-25, 17-15, in the championship match.
Jones was named the tournament MVP, and Dillon Lesniak and Tyler Heap were selected to the all-tournament team.

Boys tennis
The Bishop's School secured a 15-3 win over San Dieguito Academy on April 1.

The Knights fell to Cathedral Catholic, 14-4, on April 2. Bishop's bounced back with a 10-8 win over Francis Parker on April 3.
