Baseball
La Jolla High School steamed to a 9-0 win over Clairemont on April 9, as four Vikings pitchers combined to hold the Chieftains to two hits. First baseman Peter Sefton went 2-for-3 with a home run and four RBIs, and Trent Jemmett went 2-for-3 with a homer and a double. Patrick Christensen earned his fourth win of the season, striking out five batters in four innings.

The Vikings toppled Clairemont again April 11, this time by a 7-0 score. Jimmy Filter had four hits and two RBIs, while Stephen Foster and Trent Jemmett each drove in a run. Wyatt Hoff pitched five innings, allowing just one base runner while striking out eight batters. La Jolla improved to 11-4-1 with the wins.

La Jolla Country Day beat San Dieguito Academy, 3-1, on April 7, as five pitchers - Zack Campbell, Ben Cohn, Sam Wisenberg, J.T. Kelley and Greg Wisenberg - combined on a one-hitter. Tommy Morris led the club offensively, going 3-for-3.

The Torreys rolled to a 15-0 victory over Santa Fe Christian on April 9. Kyle Reese limited the Eagles to five hits without a walk. Campbell and Ben Sweeney each went 3-for-4 with a home run, three RBIs and two runs scored. Derek Hatfield added four hits in five at-bats.

The Bishop's School secured a 3-1 victory over city and league rival La Jolla Country Day on April 11. Cade Sears and Sam Brier each had two hits in the win, and Raj Dharmapal struck out seven as the Knights won their Coastal League opener and improved to 9-3 overall.

Mike McKenna drove in the Torreys' lone run, as they were limited to three hits.

Softball
The Bishop's School topped city and league rival La Jolla Country Day, 3-2, on April 10. The Knights moved to 1-0 in Coastal League play and 10-1 overall this season.

La Jolla Country Day eased past Escondido Charter, 12-0, on April 8.

La Jolla High School lost to Clairemont, 11-0, on April 9.

Track
La Jolla High School's boys' team edged St. Augustine, 72-63, on April 10, staying in the hunt for the Western League title. Mike Altschuler won the long jump (19 feet, 4 inches) and the triple jump (41-4). John Jackson had a big win in the 200 meters (22:51 seconds), and Michael Conroy finished first in the 3,200 at 10:09:89. The 4x400 relay team sealed the overall victory, as Aru Gonzalez, Kevin Miller, Jackson and Angel Mendoza won with a season-best time of 3:31.35.

Swimming
La Jolla Country Day's girls team secured a narrow 81-78 victory over Mission Bay on April 9. Melanie Kaplan won both the 200-yard freestyle and the 500 freestyle, while Chelsea Burns was victorious in the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle. Norae Shakur contributed, as well as winning the 100 butterfly and placing second in the 200 individual medley.

The Torreys' boys team fell to Mission Bay, 94-61, on April 9. Donald Dean won the 100 butterfly, and Ryan Frace swam to an easy victory in the 100 backstroke. The team of Frace, Dean, Henry Clausner and Justin Pierson secured a close victory in the 200 freestyle relay.

Boys lacrosse
La Jolla High School fell, 6-5, to Patrick Henry on April 9. The Vikings dropped a 13-3 decision to Coronado on April 11.

The Bishop's School rolled to a 13-6 win over Francis Parker on April 10.

La Jolla Country Day fell to San Marcos, 5-4, on April 8.

The Torreys bounced back with a 7-6 win over Eastlake on April 10.

Country Day suffered a 15-1 defeat to Santa Fe Christian on April 12.

Girls lacrosse
La Jolla High School rolled to an 11-7 win over Patrick Henry on April 9.

The Bishop's School fell to Helix, 11-10, on April 8. Paige Garrett scored four goals for the Knights, and Megan Murray added two. Sophia Muller, Hillary Halter, Jameson Kearney and Elyse Tierney each scored once.

The Knights topped Francis Parker, 9-7, on April 10, opening their Coastal League schedule with a win. Garrett and Bianca Pham each scored two goals, and six other players scored. La Jolla Country Day dropped a 12-6 decision to Santana on April 8.

Boys volleyball
La Jolla High School toppled Francis Parker, 25-22, 21-25, 25-20, 25-22 on April 9. Matt Jones and Dillon Lesniak each recorded 15 kills.

On April 11, the Vikings beat St. Augustine, 25-21, 23-25, 25-17, 25-15. Jones led the way with 11 kills, while Andrew Heap had 34 assists.

Boys tennis
La Jolla Country Day fell to Canyon Crest Academy, 12-6, on April 11. The Torreys rebounded with a 15-3 win over San Dieguito Academy on April 12. Daniel Faireman and Warren Wood each swept their singles matches, while the team of Connor Jacobs and Max Ferre swept in doubles.
