On April 14, the Vikings topped Mission Bay, 6-3. La Jolla fell to Mission Bay, 4-2, in a rematch on April 16. The Vikings dropped an extra-innings game, 8-7, to Point Loma on April 18.
La Jolla finished the week with a 14-2 victory over city rival La Jolla Country Day on April 19. Country Day topped Francis Parker, 4-1, on April 16. Kyle Reese threw a five-hitter without allowing an earned run.
The Torreys rolled to a 10-1 win over Horizon on April 18. McKenna hit another three-run home run and totaled four RBIs on the day. Greg Wisenberg pitched six strong innings, and his brother, Sam Wisenberg, closed it out in the seventh inning.
The Bishop's School secured a 7-6 win over San Dieguito Academy on April 14.
The Knights rolled to a 15-2 win over Francis Parker on April 18. The victory helped the Knights improve to 10-3 overall and 2-0 in the Coastal League.
Softball The Bishop's School secured a 1-0 victory over Mountain Empire on April 15.
The Knights toppled Francis Parker, 6-2, on April 17.
Track La Jolla High School's girls team eased to a 92-35 victory over Mission Bay on April 16. The Vikings had 10 personal bests on the day, and sophomore Kylie Henry won the 100 meters, the 200 and the long jump before anchoring the winning 4x100 relay team. Nihal Kayali clocked a time of 11 minutes, 6.37 seconds in the 3,200, missing the school record by less than two seconds.
The Vikings placed second at the Mustang Relays on April 19. Their biggest highlight was breaking the school record in the distance medley, as they recorded a time of 12:37.91 - Jessica Armstrong led off in the 1,200; Christie Richmond followed in the 400; Tess Plant-Thomas was next in the 800; and Kayali anchored in the 1,600. Swimming The Bishop's School's girls team secured a 101-78 victory over neighborhood rival La Jolla High School on April 16. A number of Knights' swimmers posted notable times: Sam Allen finished the 200-yard individual medley in 2:15.98; Noel Elgamel swam the 100 butterfly in 1:01.10; Dominique Sardo clocked a 0:29.25 in the 50 freestyle and a 56.46 in the 100 freestyle; and Andrea Basarba finished the 100 backstroke in 1:02.92.
La Jolla Country Day's girls team moved to 3-0 this season with a 97-71 win over Mira Mesa on April 16. Norae Shakur led the way, finishing first in the 100 freestyle and 100 backstroke. Chelsea Burns was also a double winner, taking the 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly. Claire Altree won the 200 freestyle and was second in the 500 freestyle, and Kelly Janus placed second in the 50 freestyle and the 100 butterfly.
The Torrey's boys team fell to Mira Mesa, 99-66, on April 16. Jihoon Yoon won the 200 freestyle, Justin Pierson was victorious in the 500 freestyle, Henry Clausner captured the 100 breaststroke, and Ryan Frace won the 100 backstroke, breaking his own school record in the event by nearly two seconds. Boys lacrosse The Bishop's School rolled to a 15-4 win over San Dieguito Academy on April 15. Trevor Sinclair scored four goals and added an assist, and Mike D. Jensen chipped in with three goals and an assist. The Knights toppled city and league rival La Jolla Country Day, 14-3, on April 17. Tighe Thomas led the way offensively, exploding for six goals and adding an assist. Conner Thomas netted three goals and had two assists, while Zach Negroni had two goals and an assist. Girls lacrosse The Bishop's School rolled to a 14-7 victory over San Dieguito Academy on April 15, improving its record to 5-4-1 and moving to 2-0 in Coastal League play. Jacqueline Rhodes led the way with a hat trick, while Emily Johnson, Paige Garett, Emily Reit, Haley Geier and Sophia Muller each scored twice.
The Knights eased past city and league rival La Jolla Country Day, 14-1, on April 17. Christi Rodriguez, Caroline Markham, Reit, Garett and Muller each scored two goals in the lopsided victory.
