Paddlers enter the water in the first Sunrise Paddle Fest, sponsored by La Jolla Sunrise Rotary. The Sept. 18 event raised $15,000 for fIre relief at San Pasqual Academy. Mike Bledsoe, carrying the yellow board, won the 3-mile race, covering the course on an unlimited board in 23:23. He was closely followed Jansen Hassett, seen at rear, on a 14-foot board, in 23:52. Top time in the Bob Litchfield Swim was Todd Robinson with a time of 16:35. The top team finish was the "Roosterfish" led by Bill Crane, Tony Joseph, Sydney Vale, Jennifer Minichinov, Karen Olsen, Barbara Held, Randy Franke, Tyler Cramer and Treacy Sommer.
